STUDY INTAKES OF NEW ZEALAND

Certain universities may refer to intakes as semesters. New Zealand has two intakes:

Semester 1: February to June

Semester 2: July to November

Students of vocational courses may also be admitted in the months of March, April, and May.

NEW ZEALAND STUDY VISA REQUIREMENTS

Before applying for a visa, ensure that you have the following New Zealand student visa requirements for Indian students ready:

  • A valid passport
  • Travel history documents
  • Two passport-sized photographs
  • University’s Letter of Acceptance verified by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority
  • Important Academic transcripts like degrees, diplomas, and certificates
  • Study Visa Application form that is duly filled
  • Receipt of payment of Application Fees
  • Receipt of payment of Tuition Fees
  • Proof of having funds amounting to NZ$15,000 to cover expenses in one full study year which may include:
  • Bank statements
  • A letter from a sponsor promising to pay your living and accommodation costs.
  • Scholarship certificates (if any)
  • Police clearance certificate indicating spotless criminal record
  • X-ray report to show that you do not have Tuberculosis
  • The complete health examination report
  • Letters of Work experience (if applicable)
  • Statement of Purpose (SOP, if required)

STEPS TO APPLY FOR A STUDENT VISA IN NEW ZEALAND

Step 1: Before you apply, you need to get ready with all the required documents

Step 2: The required documents are proof of your identity and clean character to prove that you have met all the visa conditions.

Step 3: Apply online for a visa.

Step 4: You will get a notification from authorities stating that they have received your visa application.

Step 5: Notification from the authorities on the status of your visa application.

NEW ZEALAND STUDENT VISA DEPENDENTS

Holders of student visas can apply for visitor visas to take their spouses/partners and dependent children to New Zealand with them.

NEW ZEALAND POST-STUDY-WORK PERMIT

You are eligible to apply for this visa if you have completed your studies recently in New Zealand. This visa allows you to stay and work in the country in a field related to what you have studied for up to three years.
